Tullamore D.E.W. is the original triple distilled, triple blend whiskey. Known the world over for its smooth and gentle complexity. For those of you that don't know Tullamore D.E.W. is named after Daniel E. Williams, the man who decided that true craft could only come from the True Character and insisted that his whiskey was made accordingly.
A little bit of history, Daniel E. Williams the creator of Tullamore D.E.W. a self-made man who worked his way up from a stable boy of the distillery to become the owner: he brought electricity, and motorised automobiles to Tullamore and created a whiskey so distinctive and character-filled, it could only be stamped with his initials D.E.W.
A visit to the Old Bonded Warehouse is a must and the team at Garavan's Bar recently enjoyed a day at the visitors centre. The Old Bonded Warehouse was the last place their whiskey would rest; the final leg on its journey before being shipped up the canal for distribution around the world. But where the casks moved on, the history remained. It’s this history that flows through the corridors of the Visitor Centre, where fans of the world’s finest whiskey can engage with history itself.
The full tour takes in every step of the artisan craft of whiskey making, each stage a story, told through captivating audio-visual media and the good old Irish charm of the expert guides. You’ll discover a story of how one man built an empire on a determined dream, where a whiskey making tradition blossomed and grew and where a founder learnt his trade and crafted an Irish whiskey worth putting his name on.
You will experience the true character of Tullamore D.E.W. both the history and the future on one of their three unique whiskey journeys including CURIOUS TASTER’S JOURNEY, WHISKEY WISE MASTERCLASS and ULTIMATE DISTILLERY EXPERIENCE
